Living local is a great chance to make a real difference using "Responsible Tourism" which are supporting the local Catalan farmers as it aids maintaining traditional ways of living. Renovating the beautiful country homes, with a high degree of respect, stops the areas of mass tourism to grow larger and preserve the stunning scenery, wildlife and glory in Catalonia's historic buildings and precious heritage.

Enjoy your holiday in a fantastic, restored Catalan village house, situated in beautiful surroundings in southern Catalonia. You can relax at the pool or on the roof terrace and furthermore, the beach at the Costa Daurada, the Priorat wine district and the historic cities Reus and Tarragona are only between 15 and 30 minutes drive away.
History In the 1920's a nearby castle was restored by a local diplomat. To show his gratefulness to the work of the local stonecutter "Joanet", he was given a piece of land. Here he built the original Casa Agentena, which has later been extended several times. Carved into the house balcony, you still see an example of Joanets' beautiful work. A few years ago, Ina and Albert decided to reform the house into a holiday home and with a fabulous result. The house is now incredibly beautiful and equipped with all modern facilities without compromising the authentic atmosphere of the house.
The house Casa Agentena is divided into three units, each with its own entrance and access to shared areas. They are connected by an interior staircase, which gives everyone access to the large dining room at the ground floor. The house is perfect for families and friends who would like to make holidays together while maintaining the ability to retire from time to time.
The Ground floor has two double bedrooms, a bathroom and a large dining room with seating for everyone. The house has a big oven for wood, which is built so it can heat the whole house in winter. There is also a modern and stylish open kitchen with direct access to the garden, so you can choose to eat outside.
The 1. floor: The apartment on the first floor has two double bedrooms, one with bath, a single room, a separate bathroom, a fireplace room and exit to the balcony with the most beautiful view over the village, castle and the countryside. There is a kitchen with dining room and access to the garden by a staircase (and a slide for the smallest). All rooms are decorated in authentic style with beautiful tiles, where each room has its own pattern.
The 2. floor: The apartment on the second floor of penthouse style has two double bedrooms, one with ensuite bathroom, the other with access to a separate bathroom with tub. There is a large combined dining- and living room with fireplace, a kitchen with all modern facilities and a small "reading corner" to relax in. From the kitchen there is exit to the lovely roof terrace.
Outdoor Areas Although the house is a townhouse, it is situated as the last house in the village. Therefore, the house offers plenty of opportunities to spend the holidays outside in the beautiful Catalan summer. At the top of the house, you have the large roof terrace with patio furniture. On the levels between the ground floor and the first floor, there are two terraces, one in the sun and one in the shade with the option for outdoor eating, as well as a barbecue area. There are also a couple of pine trees which provide shade and where you can enjoy life in the hammock. For children there are swings and a slide. Below, there is the garden with a swimming pool where you can cool down and children can play. There is also a table football. The house has a WIFI-Internet connection available free of charge.
If you need more accommodation, there is a hostel with 3 rooms in the village.
Through the owners it is possible to rent mountain bikes, where you can either make the hard trip up to the castle or you can take the easier paths down to the coast.

Description of the region :
With its 130.000 inhabitants is Tarragona the smallest of Catalonia's four province capitols, but with its situation on the beautiful Costa Daurada, the historical town centre and the landmark the roman amphi-theatre, the city has a lot to offer.
In the roman time, the town was called Tarraco and was province capitol of Hispania Tarraconensis.
From the artistic point of view, there are not many places that have such a large number of monuments and tourist attractions concentrated in such a small area as Tarragona has. Iberian civilization remains are plentiful in the whole region, as well as multiple Roman vestiges, especially in Tarragona city, where you can follow the traces of Rome in the Catalonian region.
The splendorous past of the city is enclosed in its several well preserved edifices. Its most notable landmarks and tourist attractions are the Roman Amphitheatre in Tarragona and the Cistercian monastery in Poblet, as well as many other places of interest within the capital city, just to mention some examples. Reus, home town of the internationally famous Gaudí, is nowadays a centre for Modernism architecture, a kind of art also to be found in many wine cellars through the whole Tarragona province.
The International Dixieland Festival takes place every year just before Easter. In the first week of July, is held in the bay Punta del Miracle a firework competition between six invited pyrotechnics. In the middle of September, the Santa Tecla Festival takes place, one of the biggest traditional Spanish festivals.
The Costa Daurada shoreline is comprised of a total of 13 municipalities, which, over a stretch of 92 kilometres, offer some sixty different beaches in all shapes and sizes from the small, secluded coves of Mont-roig del Camp-Miami Platja to the dramatic cliffs of Torredembarra, from the high-iodine waters of El Vendrell-Coma-ruga to the fine sand and clear shallows of Salou. There are even nudist beaches, such as Torn Beach in Hospitalet de l'Infant.
Several Costa Daurada beaches have been awarded the blue flag by the European Foundation for Environmental Education, in addition to other distinctions, such as that earned by Creixell from the same organisation for its wheelchair-accessible beach or the Ecoplayas Award for clean and sustainable beaches and ISO 14001 environmental management system certification earned by the beaches of Calafell. The towns of Calafell, Salou and Cambrils have moreover been officially certified as family tourism destinations by the Catalan government.
Universal studios Port Aventura
The areas main attraction is the entertainment park Universal Studios Port Aventura. It consists of an aqua park and an amusement park, which can be visited together or separately. If you let the kids decide, you can easily spend 2-3 days here.
