Big holiday home with large swimmingpool and garden in Costa Brava
Masia Plañellas is a holiday home just for the family: Here is everything that both parents and children need to have a great and memorable vacation. Take a cooling break in the large pool, play ball on football and basketball field, or select one of the countless excursion options including the beach, different towns, a market or a hike in the hilly landscape. The apartment is brand new, which is easily seen by the perfect garden and the very modern design.
Besides appearing neat and well groomed, the garden area has everything it takes to keep the kids occupied. First and foremost, there is the large swimming pool which surely will be a favorite among the kids - and the parents for that matter. Here you can take a cooling dip under the hot sun. For the smallest in holiday group there is a small paddle area in the pool beside of the stairs. To increase security, the pool is fenced, so that the parents do not need to keep a constant eye on the kids. Next to the house, you can take a football / basketball / table tennis match on the multi-pitch. For the very young ones, there is also a minor playground with swings, a seesaw and similar. The BBQ grill, situated on a large outdoor terrace, is a perfect place to cook. The food can either be enjoyed here or in the dining room.
The landscape around the house is not very typical Catalan as it is more undulating and varied. However, the holiday home is completely isolated from mass tourism, and the surroundings are very peaceful, private and certainly authentic. Still, the nearest village is merely one kilometre away, and here you will be able to find grocery shops, cafés and restaurants. A very obvious activity option is a trip on the beautiful Costa Brava-coast, only 32 km away. Likewise, there are 32 km to Catalonia’s second largest city, Girona, which certainly is worth a visit.
Masia Plañellas consists of two identical buildings with 5 bedrooms each, which offers more privacy if you are in a large holiday group. These two buildings are connected by a dining room where the dinner can be enjoyed. Upstairs there is a rooftop terrace with a magnificent view of the landscape. In each building there is a 3-person room and 4 double rooms. Characteristic for these rooms is that they are very spacious and modern. The house has 6 bathrooms, and like the rest of the house, they are of very high quality. The two kitchens in the holiday home are also modern and well equipped.
Masia Plañellas is perfect for the big holiday party with children. Everything works, and the surroundings are private and peaceful but still with different towns nearby.

Description of the region :
If you wish to absorb the lively local life in one of the smaller villages in the Girona region, go swimming on the stunning beaches of the Costa Brava. Go hiking in the Pyrenees or see some of the most interesting museums in Catalonia. If you want everything in a week and within your reach, we highly recommend the Girona region - one of the most beautiful regions in all of northern Catalonia.
The city of Gerona, near the French border. It is a beautiful city where you get a real feeling for its history just by walking through its ancient streets. Its a walled city which dates back to the Roman period, the old quarter is located within the city walls. The city of Girona has a rich, detailed, and dramatic history. The first inhabitants of the area were the Iberians. Then came the Romans who built a fortification there, which was named Gerunda. After having been occupied by a number of cultures, Girona finally fell under control by the Holy Roman Empire. In the 12 th century, the Jewish community flourished in Girona , and a major Kabbalistic school was built. However, the Catholic kings drove the Jews away from Spain in 1492. Later on, in the 17 th to 18 th century, Girona fell under siege by the French, and it was conquered by Napoleon in 1809. The walls of the city were destroyed in the 19 th century. Today, the city is a rich heritage site full of historic and cultural beauty.
The most striking characteristic about of the province is undoubtedly its great diversity. From a tourist point of view it can offer a magnificent coastal area -the internationally recognised Costa Brava- as well as a fine mountain region, which is ideal for both tourism and the practice of a wide variety of sports. This balance between coastal and inland scenery, along with a mild climate, helps attract tourists to the province throughout the year.
The coastline north of Barcelona, the Costa Brava, is one of the busiest coastlines in northern Spain. White sand beaches, lifeguards on duty, and one restaurant after another makes it a perfect spot for an easy day on the beach. To the north the town of Roses, provides rental of windsurfers, diving equipment etc. However should you prefer something a little quieter, we highly recommend the small village of Cadaques a to the north. This beautiful village build on the rocks around a small bay, is virtually untouched by modern day mass-tourism. And although the are no sandy beaches the water is clearer and perfect for a small snorkelling-trip. Cadaques is also the birth town of Salvador Dali, and was a reuge for painters and jazz-musicians. The small and central square is a beautiful little place for a lunch. The town also has some small very good and cosy seafood restaurants.
Figueres - Dalí
The hometown of one of the worlds most influential surreal artists Salvador Dali- Figueres, is also home of the official Dali museum. This spectacular is a must-see for all visitors in the area. Designed by Dali himself, the museum is a piece of art in itself, on the outside as well as the inside. For extensive info and ticket reservations follow this link http://www.salvador-dali.org/museus/figueres/en_index.html to the official web-side of the museum in English.
