Cal de Jaume is a huge and luxurious holiday home, located with stunning surroundings in the wonderful Costa Brava region. The holiday home is of extremely high quality and with 12 great, spacious bedrooms, Cal de Jaume can accommodate up to 24 people. The enormous estate (with no nearby neighbours) has lots of great outdoor areas including three beautiful terraces, a very large pool of 200 square meters and a big green garden.
Many hours will definitely be spent down by the fantastic pool area, which is located in front of the house. Besides having a huge 200 square meter pool with a shallow end for the kids, the pool area also has a large covered terrace. Here you will find tables and chairs along with an outdoor kitchen that has a sink, a large fridge and a BBQ. So if you are in need of a snack or a cool drink, you won’t have to go far. It is also a great place to sit and relax in the shade if needed. Along the side of the pool 24 sun beds are lined up, where you can enjoy the sun and relax whilst watching the kids play around in the pool. There is also a bathroom down by the pool, along with two outdoor showers.
The stairs from the pool area will lead you up to the ground floor of the house, where yet another large terrace is located in front of the house. The terrace is covered by green vines, and has plenty of tables and chairs – a great place to enjoy outdoor meals throughout the day. The terrace also has a brilliant view, which looks over the stunning landscape with Catalan mountains and the beautiful nature. On the other side of the terrace is a large, and nicely decorated private double bedroom with an ensuite bathroom.
There are two kitchens on the ground floor – both very well equipped! In the main kitchen you will find everything that you may need: a large fridge, a large stove, an oven, coffee machine, toaster, dishwasher and so on. The spare kitchen is also very well equipped with two fridges, dishwasher and a microwave. There is also a large dining room with a large dining table and chairs and a cozy corner with comfortable couches. You will also find the luxurious bathroom with both a sauna, a steam room and a large shower on the ground floor. This room is certainly the most perfect place for relaxation! There is also a laundry room with two washing machines.
Moving up to the next level of the house, 4 bedrooms can be found. All of the bedrooms in the house apart from one, have ensuite bathrooms. All of the rooms are incredibly spacious and cozy and have amazing views looking out at the beautiful surroundings. One of the rooms even has its own private balcony. There is also a large living room with comfortable couches and a large TV with loads of DVDs. The house also has WIFI which can be used all over the house, even down by the pool area. You will also find the large terrace with outdoor furniture on the second floor where the sun can be enjoyed throughout the day. A wonderful place to drink a glass of wine on the warm evenings.
There are two separate stairs leading up to the top floor. On the first side you will find two double bedrooms with large ensuite bathrooms. Another 6 bedrooms are located on the second side of the top floor.
Cal de Jaume also has its own private care-takers who live in a house on the estate. The care-takers will give you privacy but they will also make sure to change bed linens every Saturday and provide new towels every Wednesdays. They also give the option of providing you with breakfast and dinner if you would like. Here you can choose from their own menu, or they can help you hire two local chefs from the area.

If you want everything in a week and within your reach, we highly recommend the Girona region - one of the most beautiful regions in all of northern Catalonia.
The city of Gerona, near the French border. It is a beautiful city where you get a real feeling for its history just by walking through its ancient streets. Its a walled city which dates back to the Roman period, the old quarter is located within the city walls. The city of Girona has a rich, detailed, and dramatic history. The first inhabitants of the area were the Iberians. Then came the Romans who built a fortification there, which was named Gerunda. After having been occupied by a number of cultures, Girona finally fell under control by the Holy Roman Empire. In the 12 th century, the Jewish community flourished in Girona , and a major Kabbalistic school was built. However, the Catholic kings drove the Jews away from Spain in 1492. Later on, in the 17 th to 18 th century, Girona fell under siege by the French, and it was conquered by Napoleon in 1809. The walls of the city were destroyed in the 19 th century. Today, the city is a rich heritage site full of historic and cultural beauty.
The most striking characteristic about of the province is undoubtedly its great diversity. From a tourist point of view it can offer a magnificent coastal area -the internationally recognised Costa Brava- as well as a fine mountain region, which is ideal for both tourism and the practice of a wide variety of sports. This balance between coastal and inland scenery, along with a mild climate, helps attract tourists to the province throughout the year.
The coastline north of Barcelona, the Costa Brava, is one of the busiest coastlines in northern Spain. White sand beaches, lifeguards on duty, and one restaurant after another makes it a perfect spot for an easy day on the beach. To the north the town of Roses, provides rental of windsurfers, diving equipment etc. However should you prefer something a little quieter, we highly recommend the small village of Cadaques a to the north. This beautiful village build on the rocks around a small bay, is virtually untouched by modern day mass-tourism. And although the are no sandy beaches the water is clearer and perfect for a small snorkelling-trip. Cadaques is also the birth town of Salvador Dali, and was a reuge for painters and jazz-musicians. The small and central square is a beautiful little place for a lunch. The town also has some small very good and cosy seafood restaurants.
Figueres - Dalí
The hometown of one of the worlds most influential surreal artists Salvador Dali- Figueres, is also home of the official Dali museum. This spectacular is a must-see for all visitors in the area. Designed by Dali himself, the museum is a piece of art in itself, on the outside as well as the inside.
