Responsible Tourism

Living local is a great chance to make a real difference using "Responsible Tourism" which are supporting the local Catalan farmers as it aids maintaining traditional ways of living. Renovating the beautiful country homes, with a high degree of respect, stops the areas of mass tourism to grow larger and preserve the stunning scenery, wildlife and glory in Catalonia's historic buildings and precious heritage.

Apt.Eixample-Central Balcony 4+2P

If you wish to have plenty of room and a wonderful central location this apartment is perfect for a group of 4 -6 persons. The apartment is located centrally in the lower part of Eixample (down below there is a more detailed description of the district). The apartment has a well-equipped open kitchen and a TV-lounge. Moreover, the apartment features a nice alcove with a dining table and an oblong balcony that is accessed through double doors, which basically means it works as a terrace.

The well-equipped kitchen features a fridge, freezer, oven, microwave oven, electric kettle, toaster and furthermore a washing machine for longer stays.

The apartment has two bedrooms where it’s possible to sleep in both double beds and single beds. To get a further sleeping place is it possible to turn the alcove into an additional bedroom. Turning the alcove into a bedroom simply requires folding out a couch, and then you have an extra sleeping place for 1-2 people.

The apartment also features WIFI and air-condition, to put it simply: the apartment is a perfect base for your visit to Barcelona.

Your district

The Eixample-district is a wonderful district filled with work of architectural masterminds.

The apartment is located in the lower and central part of Eixample and it gives you a unique opportunity to explore central Barcelona. Your adventure in Eixample and Barcelona might take you by Ravál, which is known as Barcelona’s alternative district. Ravál is a district that has been going through an incredible development in recent years, and the district is full of rawness, excitement and diversity, art and a chaotic mix of style. Moreover, your adventure can take you by the old university La Universitat de Barcelona and the squares Placa de Universitat and Placa de Catalunya.

From Placa Catalunya emanates the landmark of Barcelona – “Las Ramblas”. “Las Ramblas” is relatively close to the water and it separates Ravál from the Gothic district, which is the antique central of Barcelona. If you decide to walk through the Gothic district and crosses Via Laitena, you will find yourself in the district of “El Borne”. “El Borne” is a pleasant and lively neighborhood, filled with nice small streets and squares with both restaurants and shops. Alternatively, you could also decide to go from “Las Ramblas” straight down to the water, where you will find a district called Barceloneta. Barceloneta is right by the water and the district features lovely sea-food restaurants and a harbor on one side, and on the other side begins the lengthy beach of Barcelona. On the beach, you can enjoy the sun, bath, play some volleyball or even walk on the esplanade. If you take the esplanade you will be able to reach the Olympic district and harbor, where you will also find some wonderful restaurants.

If you stay in Eixample, however, will you, in less than 10 minutes, be able to walk to the lovely street called “Rambla de Catalunya”. “Ramble de Catalunya” is a pedestrianized street with plenty of shops and restaurants. If the shops and restaurants of “Rambla de Catalunya” don't fit your mood of the day, you could instead skip through “Rambla de Catalunya”, go to the next street and then you will find yourself on the beautiful and sophisticated boulevard “Passeig de Gràcia”. “Passeig de Gràcia” features, among many other great things, two spectacular buildings designed by the famous architect Gaudi, who also designed the cathedral “La Sagrada Família”.

Description of the region :

Directly on the coast you will find the metropolitan city of Barcelona. It is the second largest city on Spain. A modern, cosmopolitan city, but has inherited many centuries of history. You will always find something to do in Barcelona. It is full of surprises for adults as well as for the children and will keep you entertained with countless cultural and recreational activities throughout the year. The city is the only big European city with a large sandy beach, basically in the center of town. Combined with the winding streets of the old town (Barri Gotic), and the pounding big-city life of large shopping streets and virtually a café on every corner - Barcelona is probably the most exciting citiy in Spain, perhaps in all of Europe.

A short introduction to Barcelona is impossible, and a presentation of the multitude of possibilities and experiences the city has to offer even more so. We have tried to make a short introduction the city, but above all we have tried to provide you with ideas and knowledge about activities in the city.  You will find the selection of activities in Barcelona and Catalonia here on our site . We have provided you with some useful links to facilitate your visit. Please contact us, if you have any questions. There is really only one good advice we can give you. Come see for yourself!

 Antoni Gaudi (1852-1926)

Architect and designer: Antoni Gaudi was at the forefront of the Art Nouveau movement in Spain. While working in Barcelona he created some of the city's most notable and extraordinary landmarks. This kind of architectural genius is rare, and his work is guaranteed move you. He was a pioneer in his field using color, texture, and movement in ways never before imagined. All of is works, the ones he finished himself, as well as the uncompleted (La Sagrada Familia) stands as testimony to his genius. We recommend in particular the Parque Güell on the hill of el Carmel 10 on the outskirts of the city.  The astonishing architecture can be seen and experienced, it is almost like a Gaudi theme park for the entire, as well as one of the most remarkable architectural achievements in recent European history.
