Excellent holiday home close to village in Girona province, Catalonia, Spain

Casa Palou is situated in the Geronaprovince - 35 km. from the Costa Bravacoast and can accommodate 8 guests. Here you have a unique opportunity to get close to a Catalan olive and vineyard farmer. The house is 215m2 and has a garden of 3500m2, so there is plenty of space. Just 0.5 km. from the house lays the small village where there are restaurants, public transport and supermarket. In the garden you will find a private swimming pool, a really nice patio area with BBQ and on the front of the house is a fantastic balcony with loungers and a fabulous panoramic view over the gardens and the beautiful landscape. The family uses the garden at the back of the house (not seen in the pictures).

The owner has a cute little donkey standing to the delight of the guests. Casa Palou has a large living room, decorated with rustic antiques perfectly matching the rustic farmhouse. In the large open space is also a long dining table. The kitchen is a traditional Spanish country kitchen, which has preserved the tradition-bound features. Here the owners have preserved the kitchen fireplace and its long bench, where the family previously prepared the day's dinner. The kitchen is equipped with all modern amenities such as dishwasher, microwave, cooker and fridge / freezer. In the kitchen is also a small dining table.

The house has four very spacious bedrooms, all beautifully decorated. Here are two rooms with double beds and two rooms with twin beds and there is also the opportunity to get a cot set up. The house has three bathrooms and all together there is 215m2.

The location is really good! You are in an authentic Catalan environment but have just 35 km. to the many beaches on the Costa Brava coast. The village is 0.5 km. from the house and here's supermarket, restaurant and public transportation. There is also a public tennis court if you feel like playing a tennis match. The area is filled with really good opportunities for activities such as water sports, horseback riding or a day trip to Barcelona (158 km.) and Catalonia´s second largest city – Girona - is 50 km. from the house. A must see is Museo Teatro Dalí (a museum which both children and adults will love), located 15 km. away . The well-known town Cadaques is30 km. from Casa Palou. Should you feel like playing golf, the region is known for its many excellent courses and the nearest golf course is Peralada, located 15 min. from the house.

The kind owners Ester and Marc live in a part of the very large property. They have their own garden, so all facilities are for your private use. They naturally respect your privacy 100%, but are of course available for questions about the house, excursions or activities.

Casa Palou is an excellent choice of a holiday home inCatalonia, for those who want to get "close" the Catalan wine-olive farmer and want to be near a village, stay in an authentic environment but with a wide range of excellent activities within a relatively short drive.

Sehr schönes Haus mit riesigem Grundstück, alleine auf einer Anhöhe mit etwas abenteuerlichen Zufahrt gelegen. Auf dem Grundstück viele Sitz- und Liegemöglichkeiten, z.B. Hängematte. Der freundliche und hilfsbereite Vermieter wohnt nebenan , man bekommt aber nichts von ihm mit.
Der Weg ins Dorf dauert allerdings fünfzehn Minuten. Dort bekommt man aber alles für das tägliche Leben.
Ich kann die Unterkunft wirklich empfehlen.

Très belle maison avec un immense terrain, située seule sur une colline avec une allée un peu aventureuse. Sur la propriété, il y a de nombreux endroits pour s'asseoir et s'allonger, par exemple un hamac. Le propriétaire sympathique et serviable habite à côté, mais vous n'entendez rien de lui.
Cependant, la marche jusqu'au village prend quinze minutes. Mais là, vous obtenez tout pour la vie quotidienne.
Je peux vraiment recommander l'hébergement.

Very nice house with a huge plot of land, located alone on a hill with a somewhat adventurous driveway. On the property there are many places to sit and lie down, e.g. hammock. The friendly and helpful landlord lives next door, but you don't hear anything from him.
However, the walk to the village takes fifteen minutes. But there you get everything for daily life.
I can really recommend the accommodation.

Good location on walking distance of the village with supermarket and bakery. Nice house with a large porch, good chairs, good shade and beautiful view. The swimming pool isn’t very big but de garden more than big enough. Walking trails in the neighborhood. A bit windy but we enjoyed our stay very much.
