Sydens Feriehuse celebrates 20 years

We can hardly believe it – our small agency, Sydens Feriehuse, is celebrating its 20th anniversary.

And the truth is simple: We would not be here without you.

Over the past two decades, you have packed your bags, gathered your family or friends and travelled south to Catalonia – to stay in one of our holiday homes.

You have woken up to views of the mountains, enjoyed long meals under the open sky, taken in the scent of rosemary and warm earth, listened to cicadas in the afternoon heat and shared laughter and good times around pools and terraces.

For all of this – thank you!

It all began in 2005

The story of Sydens Feriehuse began in November 2005.

That was when Mónica, from our very first holiday home, H001 Casa Mónica, drove us around the area. She introduced us to her neighbours – farmers, local families and owners of authentic holiday homes who rented out their houses as a natural part of their lives.

Many of them soon became more than business partners. They became friends.

That was the beginning of what is now Sydens Feriehuse.

Back to the very first holiday homes

In November 2025, exactly 20 years later, we returned to some of the very first houses to celebrate where it all began.

The people are the same – perhaps with a little more grey hair, just like us – but still with the same warmth, pride and dedication.

In several places, the next generation has now joined in. They are helping to run the farms and holiday homes and are continuing the traditions we first came to know 20 years ago.

It is something very special to experience.

The houses have evolved – but their soul remains the same

The holiday homes themselves are still wonderfully authentic. They have simply been gently improved over the years.

When we started, having internet access in a holiday home almost seemed impossible. We answered emails from local cafés. Later came the first weak Wi-Fi connections, then stronger ones, and today even 4G reaches almost everywhere.

The level of comfort has evolved too.

Over the years, many of the houses have gained extra bedrooms and bathrooms, games rooms, padel courts, indoor pools and air conditioning where needed.

All of it has been added with care to make your holiday even better. 

Comfort has evolved – but the soul of the houses remains the same. The authenticity and atmosphere we fell in love with 20 years ago are still an important part of the experience.

20 years with Catalonia

From our beginnings in central Catalonia, we have since explored almost every corner of the region.

We have come to know the mountains and vineyards, visited small villages, tasted our way through the local cuisine and experienced everything from farms with cattle and sheep to the coast and the vibrant city life of Barcelona.

Sometimes we joke with our homeowners that by now, we almost know Catalonia better than they do.

And even after 20 years, we continue to discover new places, small restaurants, beautiful views, villages and experiences that we look forward to sharing with you.

You are part of our story

You are among the many families, couples and groups who have placed their trust in us over the years and allowed us to help find the right place for their holiday.

Some have travelled with us once. Others return year after year.

We have watched families grow, children become adults and new generations join the holidays. We have helped arrange family holidays, trips with friends, milestone birthdays, weddings and many other special occasions.

It has been a great pleasure to stay in touch with so many of you over the years – and to be a small part of so many wonderful holiday memories.

And of course, you are always welcome back

Perhaps you will return to relive fond memories.

Or perhaps you simply long for another holiday filled with the views, the light, the food, the long evenings and the relaxed rhythm of life that makes Catalonia so special.
