Catalan Tourist Tax

When you travel to Catalonia, expect to be charged a tourist tax between 0.99 and 2.48 euros per day. The daily tax amount depends on whether you stay in the city of Barcelona or in the countryside. 

It is the house owner’s responsibility to collect the Catalan tourist tax on behalf on the Catalan government. The aim of the tourist tax is to raise funds that support responsible and sustainable tourism, strengthen the regional tourist fund and the small local tourist councils. We therefore hope that the revenue from Catalonia's many guests will contribute to responsible tourism which helps preserve the beautiful nature in Catalonia.
