Located in the picturesque mountains of Catalonia’s Ripolles region, 1050m above sea level, Can del Bleu is a wonderful, 600m2-large, holiday home, situated on a spacious 5 hectares of land, both containing meadows and forests.
The remote location in natural surrounding and beautiful views makes the property ideal, if you are looking for a relaxed base away from the beaten track. From the village of Sant Joan de les Abadesses, a curly mountain road will take you the first 6,5 km. and then the last 2 km. is on a gravel road, with some steep points, but accessible with a normal car, if you drive carefully.
With the house able to accommodate up to 22 people, the house is an nice base to rest and relaxation is on the agenda. The swimming pool is fenced and situated behind the house, away from the more steep parts of the property. In front of the house, you will have the fantastic view of the valley.
The house has been reformed in the 70es, and not many changes have been made since then, so you will find a property, providing a flash back to the 70es. Is very spacious but also quite worn.
The house can accommodate up to 22 people. It has 3 floors, and 7 rooms with beds. There are 4 bathrooms. Moreover, the house has rooms for various activities – a library for reading in a comfortable environment, an activity room, and a playroom for children. Consequently, the house is sure to offer any guest fun and relaxation – no matter the guests’ age or interests
On the ground floor you will find a double bedroom-suite, coming with an ensuite bathroom with a shower. There is another double bedroom on the ground floor. Moreover, you will also find another bathroom with a shower. The ground floor also has a living room – coming with a cozy sofa, a fireplace and TV/DVD-setup. Finally, the ground is also where you will find the dining room and the kitchen with the facilities to cook.
On the first floor, you will find 2 quadruple rooms (each of these rooms come with 2 double beds), and a living room with 1 sofa bed fit for 2 people, 1 quadruple room with 2 single beds, and associated living room with a sofa bed fit for 2 people, and 1 quadruple room with 4 single beds. Moreover, you will also find 1 double bedroom with 2 single beds. You will also find 2 more bathrooms (each coming with a shower).
On the second floor, you will find a third living room with great views out over the property and beyond. The second floor also has a playroom for the children to have fun in, and an activity room with a mini-football setup and a billiard table. There is also a space with sofa bed, which can be converted into an extra bedroom.
Since the house was taken over by Xavier in 2021, it has been improved step by step. During our visit in May 2024, the new swimming pool was made behind the house, fence for the security of the children, and with small covered terrace next to it.
There is a big area with a view on the other side of the house, facing the valley, but at the moment no terrace or barbecue (partly because the danger). The dining room inside will be the natural space for the meals.
