We have experienced the joy of celebrating a milestone birthday in Catalonia ourselves, when Bertel turned 50.
Family and friends gathered in a holiday home, and it became exactly the kind of celebration we had hoped for. There was no stress about venues, tight schedules or transport home late at night.
Instead, we had several days together. Guests could enjoy time by the pool, gather around the dinner table and go on excursions in the local area. There was time for both the planned celebration and all the small, spontaneous moments that happened along the way.
It was not just a 50th birthday, but a shared holiday experience that we still talk about today.
At a traditional birthday party, the hours often pass quickly. You need to welcome the guests, eat, give speeches and talk to everyone before the party is over.
