Masia Escritor is a a very large mansion, in Spanish called a "Pairal". It was where the noble people lived, and usually they are not let out, but in this case yes. The house has a historic atmosphere and still most of the required modern facilities in rural surroundings.

The mansion is divided into two floors, each 500 m2, and with 3 meter high ceilings, the house has an open look and feeling. There are 11 very spacious, bedrooms and 9 modern bathrooms. In addition, the mansion has a very nice pool of 72 m2. Masia Escritor is a great place to begin a memorable and countryside holiday in the beautiful Catalan surroundings.

There are 11 bedrooms spread out on the two floors, which are the first and second floor, as the ground floor is unused. All of them are spacious double rooms. All the rooms are similar to smaller suites due to their large sizes. The decoration is stylish and classical, and most of the rooms have balconies. Two of the rooms are children's rooms. Seven of the bedrooms have en suite bathrooms, while the rest share two spacious bathrooms. 

The house has a historic atmosphere, retaining some of the original features and architectonic details from the era of “modernism”. Generally, the mansion is quite historic and rustic throughout; while it doesn't have a modern, luxurious "look" as such, it allows for an authentic, Catalan experience. The charming countryside and modern facilities makes it a great combination!

The country kitchen will be appreciated by gastronomy lovers. The AGA stove you can find is well known; slow cooking, slow food, no rush and memories around the table. A lot of utensils are available in the kitchen as well as a spacious refrigerator.

From the kitchen there is a direct access to a large terrace and a dining area. The terrace is positioned in order that the house provides shade during the hottest hours of the day. On the first floor there is a small gallery where there are several sofas and sitting corners with TV, which is the perfect relaxation place. Beside that, there are several sitting and dining areas around in the house.

Masia Escritor has several outdoor facilities. First of all, the swimming pool - a sure hit among both children and adults. With a size of 12 meters x 6 meters, there is plenty of room for cooling off during the hot hours of the day, while the children play in the water. Right next to the pool there is a covered terrace with a dining table and a comfortable seating area. From here you can keep an eye on the kids playing in the pool or just relax. 

Masia Escritor is perfectly located in the Catalonian countryside surrounded by hills and fields, providing a peaceful and private atmosphere. There are great opportunities for activities in the area: A market in Vic every Tuesday, day trips to Barcelona, the Costa Brava or Penedés wine district. Please request for more information.

All in all, this huge mansion is a great for a unique holiday: Good quality, spacious rooms, plenty of facilities and an authentic style. In addition, you can order extended service for an extra charge - please request.

Masia Escritor is a great home for a “farm to table” concept. The kind owner Laura and her family are living in an apartment attached to the house, but you will have full privacy. They have their own terrace and garden on the other side of the house. In the owners' farm shop you can get products from their organic farm as well as other neighbouring farms. You can furthermore try the “pick your own” experience during summer season. Harvesting an organic slow-grown tomato matured under the sun right before lunch is priceless. Likewise, you can pick up fresh organic eggs for breakfast from the owners' chicken farm.

We (22 adults between 23 and 50) just spent a very delightful five days at Masía Escritor. The house itself was amazing - beautiful old charm, incredibly spacious, cool and quiet. The grounds and surrounding countryside are a wonderful departure from the bustle of typical vacation destinations. Laura, the owner of the house, met us upon arrival and was very accommodating throughout our stay. She helped us coordinate an absolutely fantastic chef to come cook us dinners every night, which was a highlight of our stay. I highly recommend choosing Masia Escritor for your large group if quiet country charm is what you’re after.

La maison elle-même était incroyable - beau charme ancien, incroyablement spacieuse, fraîche et calme. Les terrains et la campagne environnante sont un départ merveilleux de l'agitation des destinations de vacances typiques. Laura, la propriétaire de la maison, nous a accueillis à notre arrivée et a été très arrangeante tout au long de notre séjour. Elle nous a aidés à coordonner un chef absolument fantastique pour venir nous préparer des dîners tous les soirs, ce qui a été le clou de notre séjour. Je recommande fortement de choisir Masia Escritor pour votre grand groupe si le charme paisible de la campagne est ce que vous recherchez.

C était une très bonne semaine dans cette maison qui est très agréable. Nous avons profité de l espace aménagé à côté de la piscine et de la piscine ainsi que de cueillir des légumes chaque matin dans le potager.
Les plus :
Piscine vraiment agréable
Maison l intérieur est super, les lits sont très confortables, belles salles de bains, plusieurs télévision ,grand frigo dans la cuisine,
Beaucoup de places possibilité d ajouter des matelas dans les chambres pour les enfants, possibilité de faire un dortoir pour les enfants.
Suggestion d amélioration :
Mettre un lave vaisselle dans la cuisine extérieure

Mettre des chaises plus confortables à l extérieur chaises de salon de jardin.
Mettre un second frigo dans la cuisine extérieure
Mettre des parasols autour de la piscine
Mettre un barbecue à gaz car c est un peu dangereux de faire un barbecue risque d incendie.
Petits désagréments : parfois l odeur des élevages de cochons autour, Les chiens qui aboient.

It was a very good week in this house which is very pleasant.
We took advantage of the space set up next to the swimming pool and the
swimming pool as well as picking vegetables every morning in the vegetable garden.

TV, large fridge in the kitchen, Lots of places
possibility of adding mattresses in bedrooms for children,
possibility of making a dormitory for the children. Suggestion of
improvement: Put a dishwasher in the outdoor kitchen
Put more comfortable chairs outside lounge chairs
garden. Put a second fridge in the outdoor kitchen Put
umbrellas around the pool Put a gas barbecue because it is a bit
dangerous to barbecue risk of fire. Small inconveniences
: sometimes the smell of pig farms around, The barking dogs.

Beautiful house , old, with plenty of character. We were met by Laura , the owner, and given a tour of the house and general advice on how everything works.
As a large family group with ages from 17 - 75 we naturally gravitated towards the outside pool area which was spacious with sun beds but unfortunately no shade except a fixed shelter which gave shade in the mornings only.
The area had a secondary kitchen which was well equipped with fridge and dishwasher and there was a freezer in the outside covered eating area. Most of our meals were taken in this area but the chairs for the dining table were quite uncomfortable for an extended period.
For us (as we spent the majority of our time here) we found the fridge space a little short and felt that another fridge in this area would have helped ( but as we are a group of all adults, maybe we are the exception in this respect)!
The kitchen in the house was on the first floor ( the ground floor only contains the hallway entrance, so not suitable for anyone who finds stairs difficult) and this was well equipped with an Aga style cooker and very large fridge and another dishwasher.
The majority of the bedrooms were large and most had an en suite.
Although there are a couple of things I have mentioned (as constructive , I hope) we were not disappointed at all with the house, facilities or the holiday in general and we all agreed that the house was probably the best that we have stayed in, in 6 family holidays over the last 25 years.
