Come and relax in luxurious heights at Masia Escudia. Situated in the hills after the regional capital of Manresa, you find a beautiful, complete and newly-renovated holiday home, with quality in every detail. From the pool area, you will have a 360 degrees view to the mountains in all directions, and no nearby neighbours.
The house is also very child-friendly, especially for small children, having dedicated areas with a lot of toys, a sandpit, swings and a trampoline, just to mention a few. And, of course, the beautiful swimming pool area, is fenced for additional security.
The house – newly renovated in 2020 – dates back to the 13th century, originally built – and used as – a farmhouse. It’s picturesquely situated at the top of the scenic Vall d’Amunt de Aguilar de Segarra, giving it a wonderful location from where you can look out on the valley’s vista below, filled with farmers’ fields, forests and rolling hills, and an all-encompassing sense of tranquillity.
The house itself has an area of 300 square meters, with two porches, both 70 square meters, totalling 440 square meters. The house has 6 bedrooms, all with ensuite bathrooms, and room for up to 17 people.
The main, beautiful and tranquil hall/living room contains a large, wooden, long dinner table, and – directly conjoined to this area – is the modernized, high-quality kitchen with 2 fridges (with freezers), an oven, and all necessary kitchen utensils. Both areas are bathed in the warm rays of the sun, making it a beautiful, enticing area to eat your breakfasts, lunches and dinners in. Behind the dining area is the conjoined living room, equipped with a fireplace, comfortable sofa chairs, a coffee table, and a TV. The room is also airconditioned, so if the heat gets to you, it’s a perfect place to recline during the warmest hours of the day.
The bedrooms all have ensuite bathrooms, and large beds – making it friendly for the elderly, and those who are otherwise hindered in walking; there are level entrances to all areas of the house. There is a room fully adapted for people with reduced mobility, with an adapted bathroom, articulated beds and automatic blinds. All bathrooms have a shower – and some even have a bathtub, directly adjoined to the bedroom itself! All rooms are airconditioned in summer, and the floors are heated in the winter months.
Outside of the main house, there is a BBQ area/patio, where you’ll also find a long dinner bench, sofa chairs, a mini kitchen with a sink, and one of the two porches, overlooking the gorgeous valley below. The property also has many facilities for children to enjoy; swings, a trampoline, a sandbox/playground and – whether you’re young or old – a tennis table for afternoon fun with the family.
The marvellous, fenced pool area has many reclining chairs, a open-roof mini-patio (that you can cover for shading) for relaxing in the shade. The pool itself is large and spacious – with steps going all the way to the pool floor, making it safer for children and the elderly, and it also has a covered, see-through section on one side.
Right next to the pool area there is a lawn table with chairs, if parents wish to sit a bit away from the area, but still have the children in view and close by.

Masia Escudia is the perfect base for relaxation, but even while being seemingly remote, you can actually be in the regional capital of Manresa in 20 minutes and visit Barcelona in 70 minutes. You can also head down to the Penedes wine district in less than 1 hour, and perhaps combine a wine visit with a trip to the beaches in or around Sitges. Sitges itself is also worth a visit.
