Mas Tor de Jardineria is one of the most curious places we have. The house is a historical farmhouse, but now, the farmland surrounding the house is used for horticulture, and from the situation a level above the landscape, you can follow the gardening life. For the Summer of 2024, a beautiful new pool area will be built, so you can have a swim to cool down, right next to the terrace area and the barbecue. The house is much like a central base – from here, you can have easy access to many of the wonderful sights and sounds of Catalonia, all in a reasonably short amount of time! The house has been transformed from a hostel for workers to a holiday home. Hence, it is important to understand that it is still a bit of a mix of the former and the latter. As you can see from the photos, some bedrooms now have a usual layout, when it comes to holiday homes, where others are still equipped with bunk beds, making the house perhaps most attractive to groups with many children or smaller groups.
The bathrooms are still “camping style” bathrooms. There are 3 of them in total, two of them with 4 toilets stalls, 4 shower stalls and 4 sinks, and one bathroom with 3 instead of 4 of the aforementioned facilities, so you will have plenty of bathroom facilities if you find the layout agreeable. If you're looking for a spacious house to make into your home base from where you can easily explore and access the wonders of Catalonia, this house might just be for you!
The house has two floors and contains 8 bedrooms in total - some with single beds, others with bunk beds, and some with double beds. The house contains 3 bathrooms - one on the ground floor, and two on the first floor.
On the ground floor, you find the sitting room, the kitchen, and the game room. The kitchen is industrial, so it is very well equipped with an extra fridge, a dishwasher, a lot of cooking utensils and other useful facilities.
The large sitting room comes with a dining table and 3 sofas. There is also a TV. There is also the game room, containing table football, throwing darts and billiards, and in the garden, you will also find a table tennis setup. Plenty of things to keep the children – and adults - entertained! Also on the first floor you will find 2 bedrooms - both are double bedrooms.
You will also find one of the three bathrooms on the ground floor - its hostel layout still evident. There are 3 toilet stalls, 3 shower stalls, and 3 sinks.
On the first floor, you will find 6 of the 8 bedrooms.
1 double bedroom with one additional single bed (ideal for parents with 1 small child); 2 rooms with 2 single beds and 1 bunk bed each; 1 room with 3 single beds, 1 room with 2 bunk beds, and 1 room with 3 bunk beds.
You will also find two of the three bathrooms. Both of these bathrooms have 4 toilet stalls, 4 shower stalls and 4 sinks.
Besides the fields with plants, the scenery from the house is abundant with many hills, filled with natural vegetation and containing many hiking trails/routes, making you feel peacefully isolated, as if you’re living in a small pocket of activity surrounded by the beautiful, remote Catalan countryside. But you are not as far away from everything as you may think; the beaches of Costa Brava are less than 7 km. away, and you have various big villages with a lot of services close by - the closest in long walking distance of 2,2 km.
The house is also an ideal base if you would like to visit Barcelona, as you are only 67 km. away. You can drive there, or – if you prefer another means of transportation - there are direct trains from the station in Blanes, only 4 km. from the house. In the other direction, the beautiful city of Girona is only 37 km. away, and most definitely worth a visit as well.
