Masia Duque

If you're looking for a holiday home with loads of space for a large group, we have the perfect home for you: Masia Duque! The holiday home can accommodate up to 22 guests, and has 10 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. It has a large swimming pool with comfy sun loungers and lush, green surroundings. Masia Duque is a holiday home with all the features you need for a relaxing and enjoyable time!

 

THE EXTERIOR

Masia Duque is an original Catalan rural house from the mid-19th century. You will love the beautiful, natural surroundings and the beautiful views of fields, pine forests and holm oaks and the hilly landscape. The outdoor facilities of Masia Duque are truly great! The children of your group will love all the outdoor activities that Masia Duque has to offer, whether it be swimming in the fenced pool all day long, playing football, volleyball or tabletennis or building sand sculptures in the sandpit for the youngest ones. Next to the pool area, you will find a covered barbecue area where you can prepare outdoor meals, which can be enjoyed in the beautiful garden area at the large outdoor dining which is covered for shade. 

 

THE INTERIOR

One of Cal Duc's great features, is that the holiday home is made up of three independent units La Nena, La Nina and La Nana. All of the homes are fully equipped with kitchens, lounge rooms, bathrooms and bedrooms. La Nena and La Nina can even be opened up, such that it becomes one connected accommodation for 14 guests. The decoration of the house is characterized by an original Catalan charm such as the limestone walls, with arched openings and the original wooden beams

La Nena and La Nina are rather identical, and can each accommodate 7 guests. You will enter through the entrance hall on the ground floor, and find a laundry room and a bathroom. All of the shared spaces are also located on the ground floor, which includes the open kitchen with a connected dining room and a living room with comfy sofas and a fireplace. On the first floor of the house, you will find the bedrooms which include two double bedrooms (one with a double bed and one with two single beds) and a tripple room. There is also a fully equipped bathroom on the first floor. La Nina differs from La Nena, as it also has a living room at the opening of the stairs, from which all of the bedrooms are entered from.

La Nana can accommodate 8 guests, and is differently distributed. Here, the house is also entered through an entrance hall on the ground floor, from where you can access the kitchen and the dining-living room, which also has two sofas and a fireplace. On the first floor there are four double rooms (two with double beds, and two with two single beds), two bathrooms and a living room with sofas, a television and large windows providing plenty of natural lighting.

 

THE LOCATION

Even though Masia Duque is surrounded by nature, far from mass tourism and the busy city life, the location allows for some great day trips and you can easily visit some of Catalonia's wonderful towns and cities. For instance, a 10 minute drive will take you to the gorgeous lake town Banyoles, which has a beautiful antique town centre with lovely cafes, and a beautiful lake that you can even swim in! You can also take a 30 minute drive to Girona (aka Barcelona's little sister) which is definitely also worth a visit! We had a very enjoyable holiday and the house was perfect for our group of 21 (10 adults, 11 children)
The pool was enjoyed everyday and was well maintained by the owner.
The surrounding area is beautiful and allowed plenty of space for all to explore. The additional communal building was also a great asset and the children enjoyed using this space.
Overall it exceeded our expectations, the pictures do not do it justice.
Well located for Banyoles and Girona, which we regularly visited. We also made day trips to Beselu and the coastal towns of L’Escala and Begur.

Nous avons passé des vacances très agréables et la maison était parfaite pour notre groupe de 21 (10 adultes, 11 enfants)
La piscine était appréciée tous les jours et était bien entretenue par le propriétaire.
La région environnante est magnifique et laisse beaucoup d'espace à explorer. Le bâtiment commun supplémentaire était également un grand atout et les enfants ont apprécié utiliser cet espace.
Dans l'ensemble, cela a dépassé nos attentes, les photos ne lui rendent pas justice.
Bien situé pour Banyoles et Gérone, que nous visitons régulièrement. Nous avons également fait des excursions d'une journée à Beselu et dans les villes côtières de L'Escala et Begur.

Vi var meget tilfredse med huset - vi havde alle 3 lejligheder og fælleshuset og det fungerede virkelig fint. Udsigten fra huset er meget smuk.
Vi oplevede særdeles god hjælp fra vores vært/vicevært, bla. havde vi en del problemer med rigtig mange hvepse i græsset og særdeles i poolen, og dette blev taget alvorligt og forsøgt løst på alle tænkelige måder.
Huset var virkelig rent og pænt alle steder og det er tydeligt at se at nogen gør sig meget umage med at holde det fint.
Et råd kunne være at skifte blæserne i værelserne, vi oplevede at de ikke var særligt gode - der var MEGET varmt i august og skulle vi vælge om, ville vi nok ikke komme i august eller vælge hus med aircondition.

Bureauet Sydens Feriehuse var i en klasse for sig ift. al den hjælp, råd og vejledning vi har modtaget fra dem op til at vi bestilte huset og også efter, bla. ift. bestilling af taxa, samt kontakt med/til en restaurant der kunne levere mad til en fest vi havde
Vi er meget tilfredse ;-)

We were very satisfied with the house - we had all 3 apartments and the shared house and it worked really well. The view from the house is very beautiful.
We experienced very good help from our host/caretaker, including we had quite a few problems with a lot of wasps in the grass and especially in the pool, and this was taken seriously and tried to be solved in every conceivable way.
The house was really clean and neat everywhere and it's clear to see that someone takes a lot of effort to keep it nice.
One piece of advice could be to change the fans in the rooms, we found that they were not very good - it was VERY hot in August and if we had to choose, we would probably not come in August or choose a house with air conditioning.

The agency Sydens Feriehuse was in a class of its own in terms of all the help, advice and guidance we received from them up until we ordered the house and also after, among other things. regarding ordering a taxi, as well as contact with/to a restaurant that could deliver food for a party we had
We are very satisfied ;-)

Nous étions très satisfaits de la maison - nous avions les 3 appartements et la maison partagée et cela fonctionnait très bien. La vue de la maison est très belle.
Nous avons bénéficié d'une très bonne aide de la part de notre hôte/gardien, y compris nous avons eu pas mal de problèmes avec beaucoup de guêpes dans l'herbe et surtout dans la piscine, et cela a été pris au sérieux et a essayé d'être résolu de toutes les manières imaginables.
La maison était vraiment propre et soignée partout et il est clair que quelqu'un fait beaucoup d'efforts pour la garder belle.
Un conseil pourrait être de changer les ventilateurs dans les chambres, nous avons trouvé qu'ils n'étaient pas très bons - il faisait TRÈS chaud en août et si nous devions choisir, nous ne viendrions probablement pas en août ou choisirions une maison avec climatisation .

L'agence Sydens Feriehuse était dans une classe à part en termes d'aide, de conseils et d'orientation que nous avons reçus d'eux jusqu'à ce que nous commandions la maison et aussi après, entre autres. concernant la commande d'un taxi, ainsi que le contact avec / vers un restaurant qui pourrait livrer de la nourriture pour une fête que nous avions
Nous sommes très satisfaits ;-)

We have taken note of your comments and we are pleased to inform you that we have installed air conditioning units in all the bedrooms and they will be available for a variable cost per Kw/h consumed.
Regarding wasps, we have checked the holes in all the roofs to prevent them from nesting in them.
We hope that with these improvements the guests will enjoy their holidays more.
