Casita Mida del Delta is one of the oldest farmhouses in its village, renovated to meet and surpass the high standards for a contemporary holiday home -- without losing its rustic charm, which still defines the look and feel of the exterior and interiors.
Consisting of two floors, the house is fully airconditioned in all rooms.
The house has 4 suite-type bedrooms; 2 of them double-bedrooms, the other 2 with two single beds in each. All rooms have ensuite bathrooms. Every room offers either a view of the garden or the Ebro. Tbe beds all have soft, natural fabrics like cotton and linen, making relaxing in them after a long day of hiking or beach-going extra comfortable.
On the ground floor, you will find one of the two living rooms - bright, spacious and very cozy, the room also has an integrated kitchen with a wooden stove, and well-sized dinner table. The living room also an excellent sofa, a large sofa table, comfortable chairs, a flatscreen TV and two speakers, replicating a home-cinema effect. The kitchen comes with all utilities that are expected of a modern holiday home.
On the first floor, you will find an additional living room, with another sofa and some small coffee tables - ideal for relaxing and enjoy a good book after a long day in the countryside.
The entire house has been designed with a sustainability criteria in mind; efficient insulation systems, electricity generation with solar panels and an aero-thermal system for minimal air conditioning consumption. This is all done to have the lowest impact on CO2 emissions possible.
Casita Mida del Delta isn't only wonderful on the inside - its equally great outside, too! The house sports 2 wonderful porches in its spacious garden - one coming with hammocks for reclining and resting in the sun-kissed climate, and another close by the house's charming, traditional barbecue setup, so that the experience outdoor dining and relaxing blend together, like a exquisite bottle of olive oil on good Catalan bread. Enjoy the sights, sounds and sensations of the village and the surrounding landscapes, and marvel in the unparalleled vistas over the Ebro, as the waters of the river catch the rays of the setting sun, as you recline with an excellent glass of wine in the early hours of the night.
The Ebro Delta is the most important wetland in all of Catalonia - and it shows! Home to countless of species of migratory birds like flamingos, herons, ducks and many more, the delta is filled with a sense of life rarely found elsewhere. Countless lagoons, canals, rice paddies and sandy beaches dot and define the landscape, filling it with a magical aura, one quite distinct from the rest of Catalonia and Spain as a whole. Ever-changing with the seasons, the river's varying water levels transforms the region multiple times a year; green fields arising from elevated water levels give way to golden paddies come summer's harvest, and on it goes. The delta is alive and - much like the Ebro - never stops changing, creating an unparalleled envirionment for travelers in small and large groups alike.
Due to the comparatively flat and even landscape of the delta, getting around on bike is a good option. In fact, many small, secluded and scenic routes and not accessible by car - but on foot or on two wheels you can make your way to pristine locations that offer sights you're sure to fondly remember. Riding on a bike allows you to visit the many long, sandy and scenic beaches with ease, or find the perfect spot to birdwatch for an afternoon and evening, observing the great flocks of migratory birds soar across the setting sun as afternoon gives way to evening. Moreover, kayaking spots are commonplace in the delta, so you and your group will easily be able to find a place to rent out kayaks for the day and enjoy being one with the meandering waters of the Ebro. Since the delta is part of a natural preserve, expect to find most of it relatively untouched by civillization.
