Sitting between Barcelona and Tarragona in Catalonia's premier wine region of the Penedes, and only 9 kilometers away from the beach, the apartment is the ideal place to venture out from - to visit, explore and discover countless classic, charming vineyards, cava companies and mesmerising vistas.
The apartment's walls are built entirely out of stone. On the ground floor is the living room with an open kitchen. From the ground floor, there are doors that lead out onto the apartment's patio. You will also find a small lavatory, and a mezzanine refurbished as a TV room. Upstairs, on the upper floor, there are two double bedrooms; one with a double bed, and another with 1 bunk bed. Both rooms possess their own ensuite bathrooms. Less than 100 meters from the apartment is a parking area for your car.
Can Boten de Mencal is located in a small, charming village, offering you a window into the leisurely lifestyle of the Catalan countryside, while also providing you with a couple of easily-accessible bars and cafes, a bakery and grocery store, as well as a public swimming pool. less than 10 minutes away on foot. Futhermore, in the town of La Garriga 3 kilometers away, you will find restaurants, supermarkets and a train station - connecting you via direct trains right to Barcelona.
The apartment is well situated to easily explore the rest of Catalonia. The beach - located only a moment (9km) away in Calafell - presents you with great sunbathing and swimming conditions, with restaurants and bars close by. You will also find restaurants and shopping opportunities in the even closer El Vendrell - only 6 kilometers away.
You will stay in the Penedés wine district, surrounded by vinyards, and with endless bodegas offering visits. The owners are also wine producers, and they can also organise a tasting in the house as well as a paella night, where they make a show-cooking of paella, so you can both learn and taste. They offer a dinner (or lunch) package, where also drinks are included.
The obvious city to visit is of course Barcelona, which is also fantastic city. You can get there in less than an hour by car, or you can take the train. We will also recommend locally the town Vilafranca del Penedés (especially the Saturday market is nice) and then Tarragona with its beautiful Roman amphitheatre and antique town centre.
