Just south of the scenic mountains of Les Guilleries and east of the charming regional capital of Vic, in the heart of Catalonia, lies Can de Fabres; charming, historic and rustic – yet delicately renovated – house, originally a residential building built in the 16th century, now refurbished to provide visitors with the best of both worlds; the rustic charm of an excellent holiday home, coupled with the serene and beautiful nature that surrounds the property. Old but gold

A house initially constructed in the 16th century, Can de Fabres is truly a historical treasure. Included in the inventory of the Architectural Heritage of Catalonia, the house offers guests a peek into how Catalan countryside homes were built, creating an enveloping sense of immersion for all who stay in it. Indeed, while the house’s interiors have been modernized and is of a high calibre befitting of a quality holiday home, the choice of decor is also radiating a classically charming, warm and vintage aura, which means that the house maintains its sense of class and history – whether you’re relaxing in-or outdoors.

The house has 7 rooms, all coming with ensuite bathrooms. In total, the house has a total capacity for up to 16 people – with the possibility of adding up to 3 extra beds and 2 cots.

6 of the 7 rooms are double bedrooms, and one is a family bedroom. All bathrooms each have a hairdryer, organic soaps and sets of towels.

The house has 2 spacious living rooms – one on the ground floor, the other on the first floor. Both rooms come equipped with a fireplace flanked by comfortable armchairs and sofas, offering a supreme sense of relaxation, whether you do so alone or with your travel group.

Additionally, the house has two different dining rooms next the to kitchen, giving you more freedom to decide where and how you want to eat your meals, depending on your preferences. The kitchen itself is modern, exquisite one, coming with all the expected utilities of a high-quality holiday home’s kitchen.

The house has excellent views from all rooms, giving you beautiful vistas to look out at no matter where in the house you are. It also has a heating system and solar panels to provide guests with a comfortable indoor climate year-round. Moreover, the house sports two balconies, from where you can overlook the charming garden.

If you would like to have a workspace if you also work from home while traveling, the la selva space is also prime locations to hold meetings, courses and presentations.

Sequioa Splendor

Casa Fabregas’ garden is a spacious and beautiful area, fit for many different activities (coaching activities, team building, other company dynamics, etc.), Underlining the natural grace of the garden is the garden’s large sequoia tree, its century-old elegance apparent at all times of the year.

Apart from the beautiful garden, with outdoor tables, you will find some sun loungers to appreciate the landscape and feel the peace of our surroundings.

The Chapel from 1816 is located just wall to wall of the Fàbregas house and next to the Sequoia, giving a unique identity to the environment. The garden also houses a large barbecue that you can use whenever you want for a great lunch or dinner in the outdoor area.

A few minutes from the house, you can enjoy the beautiful Riera Major, a river that comes down from the Montseny mountain and passes right inside the property of our house. There are beautiful corners where you can bathe, and you can hear the gentle sounds of the water at all times.

This summer, moreover, there will be new facilities added to the house, and - starting in June - you will be able to find a swimming pool with sun loungers to enjoy the heat of our country.

The Goldilocks Zone

Can de Fabres is located close to the Les Guilleries mountains. As a sub-region, Les Guilleries is made up of several municipalities, one of which is Viladrau, where Casa Fàbregas is located.

Belonging to the province of Girona, Viladrau is a municipality in the Osona region, known for its location in the Montseny biosphere reserve.

Recognized by UNESCO with the distinction of a biosphere reserve, the well-known Montseny is one of the most emblematic of the natural spaces of Catalonia, due to its climatic variety, owing to its three biogeographical regions: Mediterranean, Eurosiberian and Boreoalpine. 

Casa Fàbregas is located just 10 minutes from the village of Viladrau, 15 minutes from the capital of the Osona region, Vic, 45 minutes from Girona, 1 hour and 10 minutes, from the city of Barcelona, just under 1.5 hours from Cerdanya (Catalan Pyrenees), 1 hour 50' from the French city of Perpignan, and 2 hours 40' from Andorra la Vella, the capital of the small Kingdom of Andorra.
