Remotely situated, and still not much more than 1 hour from Barcelona, you find La Casa Nou situated, in a landscape crisscrossed by rivers and streams, full of woods, stone and crops. In front of the house, a lovely swimming pool area is situated.
This ancestral home dates back to the seventeenth century, but is based on a medieval building from the thirteenth century. The farmhouse was built in 1713. Between 1998 and 2001 it was restored, stone by stone, respecting the original constructions.
This rustic house La Casa Nou has two parts, which can be rented independently in the off season. In the summer, La Casa Nou is let as one house for up to 19+3 persons distributed in 8 bedrooms and with 4 bathrooms. La Casa Nou offers two different terraces with space for everyone to eat together comfortably.
One enters the bigger part “Grande” by a beautiful wooden gate, and find a cosy very rustic hall with fireplace. From here, to one side, you find two triple rooms with single beds and to the other side a fully equipped bathroom with bath tub. 3 steps down, you enter a hall, which can be opened to the outside to serve as outdoor, covered terrace. There is a basic “summer” kitchen as supplement to the barbecue.
Upstairs, the stairs lesd to the big common area with a beautiful dining table, sofa corner with fire place, and to one side, access to a magnificant first floor terrace, with the most beautiful view over the valley in one direction and to the pool area in the other, with no neighbours in sight.
To the other side, you find the fully equipped kitchen with stove, fridge, microwave, coffe maker, dishwasher etc. In this part, there are also two double rooms, sharing between them a bathroom with bathtub.
The other part “Cabanya” is also in two floors and has also entrance from the side, where the big terrace is situated. On the ground floor, there is another living room with an open kitchen, a bathroom and two double bedrooms. Upstairs, there is a triple room with 3 single beds (and also a sofa bed, if for instance 4-5 children like to sleep together), a double room and a bathroom with bathtub. Here is also a cosy terrace.
This house is for those, who appreciate living in a truly old-style Catalan farmhouse, where one really sense the history from the walls and the rooms. The location is stunning and peaceful. In the small river in the valley, you can have a swim in the summer and the area offers plenty of possibilities of hiking. You might make a very nice excursion to the springs that deliver the watter to the house..

An obvious excursion during your stay is a visit to the Catalan metropolis Barcelona. Experience the Sagrada Família church by Gaudi, the Ramblas, the Gothic neighbourhood, the F.C. Barcelona museum at CampNou, the beach etc. The distance from most houses is between 1 and 1½ hour. As one day might not be enough, many choose to combine the stay in our Spanish holiday homes with some nights in our centrally located Barcelona apartments.
